Bridging the 'digital divide'. Free used and recycled computers, mostly for schools, non-profit organisations and disadvantaged individuals. Also: used computer hardware, donating computer-hardware, educational discounts for computer systems, computers for prisons, free PC's, computers for the classroom, computers for the disabled, computer recycling, etc. Please note that we do not provide free computers ourselves, we merely list organizations which do so.
Free Computers
Christina Foundation	USA and WorldWide. National Cristina Foundation (NCF) provides computer technology and solutions to give people with disabilities, students at risk and economically disadvantaged persons the opportunity, through training, to lead more independent and productive lives. Every day, across America and around the world, National Cristina Foundation is working to ensure that used computer technology resources that no longer meet an enterprise's needs are given a second productive life as a tool for developing human potential.
Computer Rebuilding Programme	The primary activity of this project is to acquire used hardware from organizations and individuals in the USA for use in Africa, where there is a soaring need for these systems.
Computers for Learning	USA. Transfers excess Federal computer equipment to schools and educational nonprofit organizations, giving special consideration to those with the greatest need.
Free-computers.org	UK. "Thanks to the generosity of our donors we are now receiving a regular supply of computers and this enables us to expand our activities. Although our Trust Deed restricts us to providing "free" computers to schools, we are keen to promote the use of computers for Lifelong Education, and to improve the quality of life for the elderly and the disabled for example."
FreeGeek.org	Free Geek can teach you how to build computers. If you agree to complete six computers, you can keep the sixth computer for your own personal use.
GE Elfun Computer Rehab	USA. GE Elfun Computer Rehab of Schenectady Inc, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit volunteer organization that donates free comuputers to schools and nonprofit organizations who cannot afford to buy new equipment. They accept donations of old computers from individuals and businesses, wipe the hard drives, rebuild them with Windows operating systems and donate them to requestors who must pick them up in Schenectady, NY.
Gifts in Kind	Worldwide. Gifts In Kind International donates products and services to over 50,000 charities and schools worldwide thanks to thousands of generous companies.
Little Geeks	A registered Canadian charity that collects, refurbishes and re-distributes donated home computers to children in need. These computers are given free of charge, and are coupled with an Internet connection at the child�s home.
Share the Technology	Free online computer donation database: schools, individuals with disabilities and non-profit organizations seeking computer donations, places which recycle old computers. USA only.
